 The Houston Art Fair aims to help connect the Houston market with as many new and established artists as possible. Since accessibility for all types of collectors is our goal, we encourage our artists to have a wide range of prices for those just starting their collections, as well as those who are more established.


Please find the basic artist guidelines below. 


The Dates

When: January 26th – January 28th

Where: 2415 Taft St. Houston, TX 77006
Set Up: January 25th from 10AM – 5PM & January 26th from 10AM – 2PM
Artwork Retrieval: January 29th & 30th from 10AM – 5PM
Event Schedule:
  • January 26th; 6 – 9PM; Collector Preview Night, $30 Entry Fee (Half of all proceeds made from ticket sales for the Collector Preview Night will be donated to Project Row Houses.)
  • January 27th: 12PM – 8PM; Free Entry
  • January 28th; 12PM – 5PM; Free Entry

General Guidelines

  • All participants must register and have paid their registration fee in advance.
  • Setup times are strictly adhered to. Late setups might not be accommodated.
  • Non-compliance with any of these rules may result in expulsion from the fair without a refund.
  • Collection of state and federal sales tax will be the sole responsibility of the artist for any and all sales conducted by the artist.
  • The Applicant, hereby fully and forever releases, waives, and discharges not to sue Reeves Art + Design, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, representatives, or any other persons affiliated with the Fair (collectively referred to as the “Organizers”), from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, causes of action, charges, expenses (including legal fees), and damages for personal injury, death, property damage, theft, or other loss that may result from, arise out of, or relate in any way to the Applicant’s participation in the Fair, whether such risks are known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, future or contingent.
  • The Applicant further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold the Organizers harmless from any claim, demand, or cause of action that may be made by any third party on account of or arising out of any action or inaction by the Applicant or any action or inaction of the Organizers in connection with the Applicant’s participation in the Fair. The Applicant understands that the Organizers do not provide insurance coverage for artwork, materials, or any property belonging to the Applicant, and it is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure appropriate insurance coverage. In the event of any damage, injury, or theft, the Applicant shall look solely to their personal insurance resources for any form of compensatory recourse.
  • Please note that you are renting a wall section, not a booth with additional walls. Because of this, please be mindful of the other surrounding artists.
  • Completion of this application does not guarantee your acceptance in the fair. You will be notified if you are accepted on November 28th.  

Artwork Guidelines

  • Artwork content must adhere to any guidelines set by the fair organizers. The organizers reserve the right to remove any artwork, no questions asked, if they deem it violates these guidelines
  • Artwork must be confined to the artist’s allocated area
  • No counterfeit or unauthorized reproductions allowed
  • While tasteful nudity is allowed, no explicit material or graphic depictions of genitalia (If there are any questions regarding this, please contact the organizers prior to the event.)
  • Ensure the stability of your artwork to prevent accidents or damage
  • Keep area around artwork new and free from obstructions for easy foot traffic
  • No playing of music or videos without headphones

Hanging Requirements

  • No artwork that will hang on the wall may weigh over 50lbs
  • The use of nails over 2 inches long or any kind of screw is not permitted
  • Picture hanging nails or hangers is preferred 
  • As to not encroach on surrounding artist’s wall space, please account for a 6 inch border on either side of your space. 
  • Artwork may not be hung above 9 ft.
  • Please reach out to the organizers with any questions regarding these requirements

Fair Etiquette

  • Treat all participants, visitors, and artwork with respect
  • No disruptive behavior or loud noises
  • No aggressive sales tactics
  • Access to WiFi and electrical outlets may be limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. If this is a concern for you, please contact the organizers prior to the event
  • Artists are responsible for clearing out their space at the end of the fair within the timeframe outlined above. If the artwork is not picked up within 7 days of the pickup period outlined above, the artwork becomes the property of the organizers.


How does entry work for the artists on Friday for the collectors preview night?
  • Included in your wall section purchase is an additional ticket for the preview night.
What if I can’t be there for all three days of the event?
  • No problem at all! If you are unable to tend your wall section for the full duration of the art fair, Reeves Art + Design offers the service of taking payment on your behalf. The fee for this service is 15% of the sale price.
I am a sculpture artist. Do you have any pedestals available?
  • Yes! We have a variety of pedestals available. You may rent them for $50 each. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
